Nancy Lee Bohrer, Founder, President & CEO

Nancy has been a "memory saver" since she was little, following in her mother's footsteps who was a scrapbooker even then and an avid artist, but the construction paper scrapbooks crumbled over time and Nancy was introduced to scrapbooking "the right way" in 1993. She scrapbooked for five years before deciding that she had to make more people in the East aware of this wonderful pastime. Conventions and stores were plentiful on the west coast but nothing was happening in the east in 1998. With years of organizational skills and small event planning experience, a lot of hard work and her family's generous support, she produced the very first Scrapper's Dream Vacation in Hagerstown, Maryland. Despite the fact that she had never attended a convention or retreat of any kind, she had a dream of what the perfect getaway for scrapbookers would be like...and created it. It turned out to be a huge success with 250 people at the very first event. Her husband Dale joined her in the business by the second SDV.

Nancy was a stay-at-home mom for many years, and with her husband Dale, a proud parent of six beautiful healthy children, Dale Jr., 31, Kerry, 28, Heather, 25, Kimberly, 20, Jeffrey, 18, and Daniel, 11. They also have five beautiful healthy grandchildren. They homeschool their youngest child due to the the never-ending travel schedule of the SDVs, and enjoy traveling the country all year long.

As president and CEO of Dream Events, Inc., Nancy remains involved in the creative end of planning each and every event from start to finish. Her direct responsibilities include registration needs, detailed floor plans, and maintaining the website. She believes that it is the personal touch that helps to keep the SDVs on top of the scrapbook event industry.

In December 2006, Nancy was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. 2007 was her most challenging year while she received chemotherapy and radiation. It was a blessing in the fact that she was able to share her story with her attendees and friends, and encourage all women to get their yearly mammograms and take time for their monthly breast self-exams. Her last mammogram in December 2007 showed no cancer.

A personal note from Nancy:
"I thank the Lord daily for the many blessings He has bestowed on our family. I am so very blessed to share every day of my life with Dale as my husband and business partner, and to be the mother of six distinctly different personalities. For whatever reason, the Lord chose to bless us even further with an exciting and successful business. Our customers are very important to us, and we truly appreciate the loyalty and support we receive from so many wonderful people. Scrapbookers are the best people! So many of our customers return to the SDVs time and time again, and have become good friends. I could not ask for anything more. I am truly blessed."
